About Omega Live Scan

Understanding ORI & OCA Numbers for Live Scan Fingerprinting

Required for Fingerprinting in Clearwater, Palm Harbor, Dunedin & Tampa Bay.

When completing your Level II fingerprinting at Omega Live Scan, it is essential to provide the correct ORI and, in some cases, OCA numbers before we can process your request. These numbers are assigned by the requesting agency or employer and direct your fingerprint results to the correct destination.

What is an ORI Number?

ORI stands for Originating Agency Identifier Number.

  • The ORI is essentially the digital address where your fingerprint results are sent.

  • You must obtain your ORI number from your employer or the regulatory/licensing agency that requires your background screening.

  • Omega Live Scan cannot supply ORI numbers—only the requesting agency can provide this information.

  • All fingerprint submissions are final. If an incorrect ORI is provided, a new appointment and additional fees will be required.

Tip: Always bring your ORI number with you to your appointment to avoid delays.

What is an OCA Number?

OCA stands for Controlling Agency Identifier Number, assigned by the Florida Department of Children and Families (DCF).

  • The OCA number is used for applications with AHCA (Agency for Health Care Administration), DCF, and Medicaid.

  • This number is not the same as a license number—it’s an agency-assigned tracking number.

  • Medicaid applicants should also have their Medicaid number available.

Example:
If you are being fingerprinted for DCF requirements, you will need both the ORI and OCA numbers before your appointment. Without them, FDLE (Florida Department of Law Enforcement) will not process your fingerprint submission.

How to Get Your ORI and OCA Numbers

  • Contact your employer, licensing board, or regulatory agency directly.

  • Confirm that the numbers provided are accurate before your fingerprinting appointment.

  • If you’re unsure, verify the numbers prior to visiting Omega Live Scan to avoid rescheduling.

Fingerprint Submission & Results

  • FDLE will send your results directly to the requesting agency.
  • Most agencies receive results within 3–5 business days.
  • If you want to check the status after this time, you can:
    • Use the FDLE Search Transaction tool
    • Or contact FDLE directly at 850-410-4161

Important Reminders:

  • Bring both your ORI and OCA numbers (if required) to your appointment.
  • Submissions cannot be changed or reprocessed without additional charges.
  • Having the correct numbers ensures your fingerprints are processed quickly and accurately.
